Day 3. Ungdomshuset, Copenhagen, Denmark - 11.09.2014.

Collecting ourselves in the morning, after a quick breakfast and shower we started our way to the North – to Rostock more exactly, where we already had reservation for the ferry to Denmark at 15:30. With no problems we got there even earlier and passed the time at the seashore in a good mood. The ferry trip took about two hours, which seemed just minutes – it was a relaxing time after being for hours in the van on the road.

Coming off the ferry our van was waved aside for police and custom control. Ufff... we expected something like this at the border between Sweden and Norway. The cop asked where we were going and why. We’d better handed him the infosheet with the current show instead of pronouncing the name of the club Ungdomshuset. The paper included the day’s line up as well... “Kluster Fuck? Is that the name of your band?“ asked the officer smiling, seeing the name of one of the support bands on the sheet. “So: sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll? Let’s see whether you have drugs“ and in a minute a trained dog was let in our van to search... Even if we assured we just have alcoholic drinks (which was not true this time), the dog was carefully sniffed all the corners of our stinking van inside and in the end found... the stick of salami under the seats :). While the policman tried to separate the eager dog and the salami we were thinking with a relieved smile how lucky it is to have not only vegetarian bandmembers when being on tour!:) We were let go and after some hundreds of meters one already could hear loud laughters and green smoke coming out of the carwindows...

In Copenhagen we found Ungdomshuset quite easily and in some minutes we had to be looking for our jaws on the foor, which fell down so deep by the surprise and amusement – this place is a huge complex (we can say half-official squat or culture center) where on 3 floors we could find everything: a cafeteria/ restaurant (vegan), rehearsal rooms, a library, sleeping places for bands, a huge concert hall and in a separate building a smaller (still big enough) concert-room with a bar... We arrived in late afternoon and there were (mostly young, but not exactly teenager) people everywhere, there was some presentation with projection in the library – everything seemed so lively and active. All the time I was just wondering why a place like this, offering youth to spend their freetime in a meaningful way, cannot exist in our town Brno?! The gig was to start about 21:30, so we had time to take a small walk around the complex and on our way back we met Charlie and Eva coming to the show by bike (yes, many people seem to use bikes in this country). It was a warm feeling to speak in Hungarian and Slovak far from our home and to meet nice people like them (a friendship for life has been bound that night for all of us, I think).

People started to gather for the concert, we could not expect too many of them as there was Maquina Muerte playing the following day, which might have attracted more visitors being it a Friday and having a band from the overseas (Mexico). Still there were enough people to create a good atmosphere, even the fact that at the bar they do not sell hard drinks did not make us depressed, hehehe (Why? You will read about it a bit below:). A girl was sitting at the bar looking very much similar to our ex-vocalist Tereza. After a momentary amazement I forgot about her as I was busy with the distro until I went in front for some minutes to check the first band... and guess what? The girl was on the vocal producing inhuman voices, which one could not expect. The band was called Diswolf and it is in fact the organizer, Jonathan’s new band with a couple of gigs behind them. Crust as fuck, really raw and dirty, I liked it very much (I still enjoy regularly listening to their demotape, which I was lucky to have got hold that night, thanks to Kim from War Game Tapes, with whom we made a huge trade).

The second band was that Kluster Fuck. I cannot find words, either. Something like Idiots Parade or Lycantrophy – indeed intensive. Kristine, the vocalis girl has an unbelievably strong screaming voice and the whole band was full of energy. They are also a new formation, which I think we will hear more about in the near future. We were really afraid to get on stage after them, hahaha. Bricanyl did it at first and they made it. Then we closed the night with our short blast hoping that everyone was satisfied.

The bar was to close at 3 pm, but as there was no hard drink for sale, we started one or two more bottles of our slivovica, which was distributed in the whole venue letting everyone who wants to taste some home-made spirit from the South :). As a result (or also by the fat hash cigar made by Jonathan) the bar was open still at around 4:30. (The slivovica got warm welcome, unlike the Kozel beer in 1.5l plastic bottle – the girls at the bar felt personally insulted by our offering it to them: they said in Denmark noone would drink that shit in that form, hehehe.)  Anyway, the whole complex with the yard is locked for the evening/ night to avoid people unwanted getting in. Suddenly (hell knows how much the time it was then) I just realized I am outside the fence and all I want is to get in.  As my memory serves right (of which I am not sure regarding this tour:) I went out escorting a girl to the nearby busstop, however the details of getting out are absolutely unclear. After returning, by my shouting and bumping on the gate a girl finally let me in so that I could search for our sleeping place as noone seemed to be around at that time. After wandering some long-lasting minutes (hours?) in the labyrinth-like corridors of the complex (as I did not remember where our sleeping room was), I gave it up and lied down on some free bed in a seemingly temporarily furnished room where some people that I remembered from the gig were already sleeping... and I was lucky to have been found in the morning by the others from the band. They were already after the morning shower and the breakfast (inculding some hash again) and ready to go, so stinky and still totally wasted I could not do anything but get in the van as we are about to leave this splendid country, 8-9 hours of driving ahead of us... to direction to Oslo!

Day 2. Wagendorf Wuhlheide, Berlin, Germany - 10.09.2014.

Waking up after some short hours was not much pleasant, but we had to get used to getting up early almost each morning as big distances were ahead of us. Berlin is not that far from Prague – we got there quite easily, but to find the place seemed to cause us some difficulties. Oliver (organizer, Fleshbug Records and band Feast) sent me a map by which we could get quite close to the venue (which was an occupied/ squatted part of the town with about 70 people living there in caravans/ bungalows – about this I will write later). There were some roadworks and our GPS showed us the street indicated in Oliver’s map, though the surroundings did not seem that there would be some squatted area there. By our luck some guy by bike was passing by while we were helplessly searching the right way and he was glad to drive us to the place which was just on the other side of the highway. All of us was immediately amazed by the place: it is like a small village in a nice, uninhabited part of Berlin surrounded by trees/ small forests. Even at the entrance we notice post-boxes hinting that people are kind of recognized to live here in some autonomous circumstances. They even have electricity and also water in a common block where they have two showers, toilets and a washing machine (was quite pleasant to find and hear a radio – I guess - always switched on in this cabin).

Allegedly, each person living here is supposed to pay about 100 Euros per month for the mutual cost and that’s all about the costs living here: of course you should have your own caravan or bungalow to live in. We were escorted to the community house, where the gig would take place: it is a cosy, spacey hall with a little stage and a bar – perfect place for get-togethers. We were provided delicious food and drinks, so we started enjoying our being here – I think our hosts too, as we gave a bottle of slivovoca to them as present:).

The more drinks consumed, the better atmosphere created, and the time was close to start the gig: local powerviolence band JHK blasted the small stage for about 20-25 minutes - we were impressed by their energetic show. Our performance was also welcomed by the small but enthusiastic audience - I think both bands of us gave the maximum starting the abroad part of the tour well.

Thanks for all the people showed up (quite a diverse audience was gathered), and most of all for the great organization to Fleshbugs:) The gig might have been short but the afterparty wasn't - surely there were hours dropped out, but I remember us sitting in some friendly guy's "apartment" drinking slivovica and smoking weed while listening to LPs from his collections... :)

Special message to Eva from Dresden: sorry we could not manage the invitation for your shows - I tried to send you emails but the address given did not work out (however I tried with both engdings with .de and .ge) :( For sure we would like to come to play in Berlin or in Dresden again!!!

Day 1. Cross Club, Prague, Czech Republic - 09.09.2014.

As expected, we started with a 2-hour-delay so we got to Prague quite late. It was evident that we would not manage on time: it took time to collect all the 8 people from different villages and pick up the amplifiers, guitar and bass boxes and drumset (and naturally some personal belongings) from two different practice rooms. What I was afraid of of being on the road too long was the too frequent piss- and smoke-breaks, but after all it was not on a hourly basis as I expected (smoking was allowed in the van, so maybe that’s why hehe), so we could get everywhere relatively on time. In Prague already the second band was playing with the funny name Hrobocop. A pleasant surprise, they played some energetic metal/ crust with a female screamer. It was not our first time in Cross club (thanks to Viktor to organize this night for us again!), which has a special, futuristic atmosphere with chaotic ornaments everywhere on the walls made in a DIY way I think. Once you must see it to believe it, there is a lot of work behind that I think.

There were quite many people in spite of the fact it was a Tuesday (OK, Prague is a capital city). It might have helped that the entry was free, but I haven’t seen many people looking like not having something to do with this type of music (anyway Cross Club is a huge complex with many floors and different parties at one night – there was some electro or whatever in the basement and up there in the other floors for sure there were also many people just to come for a chat by some drinks and food). We played our solid set, which people seemed to enjoy (unfortunately we had no time to practice the two newest songs with vocals before the tour, so our programme was rather short, below 20 minutes I guess). Bricanyl was to follow us with the same atmosphere and of course excellent sound (in Cross it is a basic thing I think). I was surprised seeing one more band after us: Sebestřet was a trio from Prague (I suppose), they played simple crust. Nothing new or extraordinary, but I enjoyed their gig (apart from the mistakes, which made it evident that we are talking about a new band here). To the afterparties we went by taxi and surely I would never find these two (?) pubs again – both of them had superb atmosphere (I can say it more by looking at the photos taken there than my weak remembrance:).

Bombräd över Norden - Bombatölcsér/ Bricanyl Turbuhaler tour 2014

I have just been sitting here for long looking at the screen... and thinking how to start it... The tour is over for days now... and I cannot find my place anywhere... It was just like a dream had come true... but naturally with a rude awakening by which everything disperses. Memories still remain, which should be made stronger stuck in our minds and hearts in writing this report. Now every routine-like weekday seems to be a waste of life. Even weekends with gigs cannot bring back the feeling of being on the road… With all its pain and inconvenience…. When arriving somewhere is not important any more…

Bombatölcsér weekend tour 04.-06.July 2014

Everything started with a simple invitation to support the Slovakian show of a

Mexican band Nazareno el Violento on their EU tour on Sunday.

We accidentallygot another invitation for the same weekend's Friday from Vsetin to participate in

the opening party of a new club called Vesmir. We just had to find a show for

the Saturday inbetween, and here we go, the mini-tour is ready! :) Well, it was not

that easy after all, we had already had plans to join the Swedish band Gust

after the Vsetin concert where they were the headliners and go with them to

Budapest, but it would have been a crazy, long journey which we had to finance

from our own empty pockets, so we'd better arranged the excellent hardcore club

Plan B in Ostrava to host a show for us.

On Friday after work we started with a two-hour delay compared to what we had

planned as we had to collect our instruments and amplifiers from two different

rehearsal rooms (thanks to Filip from Morsa for lending us his bass head!).We

could not find a  driver crazy enough to join us for these three days, so we had

one seat free. In Brno we also picked up Kuba (You Have Not Enough Materials

crew) with two litres of wine and set sail on the roads... By the time we got to

Vsetin, Veto had already played and on the stage Zkažená Mysl was heating up the

already warmed-up crowd. We have already played an excellent show in Vsetin

before and we had some expectations which were met immediately by entering the club: good

atmosphere, lots of friendly people (many young punks/ crusties etc.), superb

sound... The club itself is very spacious and was just half-ready: everywhere we

could see the signs of renovation, the walls were not covered, the furniture

seemed temporary as of yet... Also there were bricks, wooden boards and sticks

just put aside in a rush into some corners... One almost made us finish our tour

earlier when two drunk girls accidentally pushed one 3 metres long wooden board

which fell off and hit me on my shoulders, just some centimetres missing my

head...

By the way, the main band Gust from Sweden played some US-type Hardcore and they

were pretty much successful with it, though I did not find them extraordinary at

all. The audience was all the time supportive and fortunately they did not get

tired for our show, either, what is more... Even from the first seconds an

unbelievable mosh started creating superb atmosphere thru our short set. Miro

had to draw back even to my drumset because of the people pogo dancing

everywhere:) One of the best shows Bomba has ever played, I guess... For the

night we stayed in the club and could sleep on the stalls and benches with no

problem, but as it is in the basement and there are no windows at all, we could

hardly notice the sun is already brightly shining outside...

To Ostrava we took Vendula (organizer girl of Vsetin show) and her dog and

stayed at her place till the evening show. We had to be there the earliest as it

was me who organized the show in Plan B. Actually Jakub (owner of Plan B) was

kind to provide delicious food and beers for the bands, which I invited (had to find the bands

in some days and was lucky to get them from Ostrava region). I did not expect

many people as I have heard crust and grind has no stable base in Ostrava and

the gossip was right. There were 8.5 people paying the entrance (one gave more

than the actual entrance fee to support us:), so it was more like a family

occasion with friend bands we have already played with some times: Personality

Lapse and Nakopalypsa. Also the weather was pretty much bright, so people has

chosen having fun outside and not in a club with 40 `C... Or they must have been

saving their energy for the Kylesa Sunday show in the same town the next day.

Anyways, the party was pretty cool, the bands played with no nervosity in a superb club and

I think everyone enjoyed themselves till early morning when they finally could

close... :)

The day after we were prepared to the trip to Slovakia... Our GPS, however, was

not... Having no maps at all, at Vendula's place we checked the road to Bánovce

nad Bebravou and memorized it using a draft her roomate created for some other

occasion (see photo below:)

It worked well and we could find our way out from

Czech Republic (only thing was that we wanted to avoid the direction to Frýdek-

Místek being it 15-20 kilometres more, but during searching for the right way in

the end we made rounds within Ostrava that were probably more than that in

kilometres.. and in the end guess what? ...we ended up in Frýdek-Místek :D).

In Slovakia at first we went to Prievidza, our new vocalist, Miro's hometown.

After having a delicious lunch (thanks PeGy!) and some beers, joined by the

local deathcore brigade Stercore, we headed for Bánovce nad Bebravou, which is a

tiny town near the Czech border. It was quite early that we got there but there

were already people in the club. Their numbers just continuously grew, so a

healthy crowd was collected in that Sunday evening after all. the first band I

didn't see because we were just making friends with the Mexican band that time.

As a result I managed to trade many of my stuffs with them and for their T-

shirts (4, so 1 for each Bomba member) and we decided to play our show in their

T-shirts. I don't know if there were any people that thought that we were

already the Mexican band on the stage: well, if they liked our show, we were

Bomba, if they don't, yes, that band was the Mexican one, hehehe (just kidding).

Before us Stercore played, precise, math-like deathcore with a superb sound.

They had a new bassist playing with fingers, technically amazing. I would put

more of the faster passages into their music to increase intensity, but overall it

was an enjoyable set. After us indeed the Mexican band was to come with the

name Nazareno el Violento. Intensity was not amiss here and we could witness a

gorgeous show with full-energy. I was standing just somewhere in the back as it

was not possible to get too close to the band because of the moshing people in

the pit. The small cellar-like place turned to be a sweating hot hellhole in

some minutes, that's for sure!

Overall, a nice closing show for this excellent weekend, only the long way to

home was waiting for us as next day we had to go to work again... back to

everydays' bleak reality. Ahhhh.. and that goulash from soy with cabbage... delicious!

With the plum inside, as later it turned out to be, unique but proven to have been a brilliant

idea!!!:)

ps. From this tour on it becomes a habit to drink a shot of Jack Daniel's before each Bomba-gig:)

Just for the sake of a good show to happen...:)
